
Alta Brim Kenya Projects Fund
In March 2004, 2003 Cultural Reconnection Mission delegate and Visioning and Planning Team member, LueRachelle Brim-Atkins, was recognized as Outstanding Alumnus of Leadership Tomorrow.а She used the $1000 stipend that accompanied this award to launch the Alta Brim Kenya Kenya Fund to finance joint venture projects between Cultural Reconnection Mission delegates and our counterparts in Kenya.а The fund is named after LueRachelleТs mother, Alta Thalia Brim, who always desired to travel to Africa.а Projects supported through this fund so far have been:
аvаааа Hilltop Orphanage in Kisumu, 2004
oаааааа Purchased two cows and 200 chickens to feed 40 orphans and to generate income for the orphanage by selling the surplus milk and eggs.а
oаааааа Built a cow shed, a chicken house and a water tank to provide water for the children and livestock.
oаааааа Purchased a toilets, showers, and a septic system to provide indoor facilities for the children and installed solar lighting at the orphanage.
Alta Brim Orphanage
The Hilltop Orphanage in Kisumu was the initial recipient of the Alta Brim Kenya Fund in 2004.а In recognition of this contribution, the Orphanage board renamed the orphanage the Alta Brim Orphanage.
